On November 10, during a routine traffic stop in Chicago's Morgan Park neighborhood, a law enforcement officer was harmed by a rogue SUV driver. The driver sideswiped the officer's squad car, hitting the officer, and then absconded from the scene, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
The unidentified officer was trying to pull the black SUV over at around 1:15 a.m. on South Vincennes Avenue. Following an unexpected swerve by the SUV driver, the officer exiting from his car was struck.
The officer's injuries were non-life-threatening, as he was rushed to the hospital in good condition, according to CBS News. The SUV offending driver successfully evaded law enforcement and is currently still at large.
