Yesterday, November 1, a community alert was issued by the Chicago Police Department. The alert warns residents of the 24th District (Rogers Park) about a series of burglaries where offenders break into apartment buildings and steal property. This alert is based on three incidents reported between October 26 and October 27.
The identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators has yet to be identified, and residents are encouraged to take safety precautions. Recommended actions include properly lighting property exteriors, reporting suspicious activities, and maintaining secure doors and windows. In instances of a burglary, residents should avoid touching anything and call the police immediately.
