Over a short period this November, the inhabitants of Chicago's Grand Crossing District are seeing a series of burglaries. As documented by the Chicago Police Department, these incidents involve an unidentified intruder gaining entrance to residences by forcibly breaking doors or windows.
The initial incident occurred to at the 6700 block of South East End Ave. on November 10th, followed by others from November 11 to 13 on the 6700 block of South Ridgeland Ave., with another occurrence at the initial site on November 15th. As these burglaries continue unhindered, locals are left to deal with the task to secure their homes and personal items from further intrusions.
Following the CPD's advice such as adequately lighting the property, immediately reporting any suspicious activities, and forming neighborhood watch agreements could prove pivotal. The numerous suggestions can be found in the CPD's Community Alert.
