A 16-year-old girl in Chicago's Irving Park neighborhood suffered a minor graze wound during an early Monday morning drive-by shooting. Occurring just after midnight, the teenager was in the backseat of a moving vehicle during the incident.
As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, the shooting occurred on the 3600 block of North Sawyer Avenue and the victim currently is in good condition at Swedish Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, informed police that the suspected shooter was driving a white SUV. No arrests have yet been made and the case is under investigation by area detectives. The official statement from the Chicago Police Department confirms these case particulars, including the minor injury sustained by the girl in the vehicle's rear seat.
Area Five Detectives are investigating the incident.
