Last Saturday, residents of Dallas commemorated Arbor Day by receiving complimentary trees at the 5th annual Branch Out Dallas tree giveaway, sponsored by Dallas Water Utilities. As reported by Dallas City News, over 2,600 trees were distributed across six locations throughout the city.
Dallas residents were able to choose from tree varieties such as bur oak, sycamore, American elm, Mexican plum, Shumard oak to split and lacebark elm. These tree varieties are acclimated to the Texas environment.
