The taco truck, led by veteran Dre Johnson, will serve dishes including rolled tacos, burritos, and quesadillas with an opening projected for mid-December or January.
The San Diego Taco Shop, initially established in early 2021, had to promptly shut down at Oskar Blues Brewery due to its closure earlier this month. Nevertheless, the taco truck found a quick resurgence, planning to move to two new locations. Apart from 5th Element Brewing in Leander, Daygos will also be situated at Nomadic Outpost in Sunset Valley. The exact opening dates remain unclear, yet San Diego-style Mexican food enthusiasts can anticipate a delightful and accessible dining experience once locations launch.
Brewery and restaurant Vista Brewing opened its new San Antonio cafe and taproom in October, serving European-style brews and dishes, including confit duck wings and prosciutto-stuffed meatloaf as reported by Eater Austin. The San Antonio branch of Vista relocated from a previous location to a larger space in July 2021.
Vietnamese restaurant Pho 63 Boba Tea Cafe debuted in North Austin in October, serving traditional staples like banh xeo and various pho dishes, together with beverages such as milk teas and Vietnamese coffee. All Gimmicks Coffee, located within Fairweather Cider, ceased its operations in October, paving the way for another coffee shop that opened last Friday with an espresso menu. Beans from Brooklyn-based Sey Coffee and churro milk were included.
