In Massachusetts, authorities are probing the deaths of a young woman and a man in what appears to be a gruesome murder-suicide in Marlborough. The violence unfolded in plain daylight in Rice Street home, according to law enforcement officials.
As detailed by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Marlborough Chief of Police David Giorgi, police were hurriedly summoned to the scene around 10:05 this morning after two women and a child, believed to be housemates and a child of the deceased woman, fled the house and reported a shooting, according to the District Attorney's Office. The investigation suggests that the male suspect allegedly threatened the victim at his home last night.
Officers who entered the home found a 28-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, deceased from gunshot wounds. The early findings of the investigation indicate the two dead were romantically involved, as reported by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
The incident, as pieced together by authorities, began with the male forcibly breaking through a window to enter the female's home, having previously laid threats upon her life. Shortly before police were alerted to the bloodshed, the man is said to have confronted the woman once more, this time with fatal consequences, turning the gun on himself after shooting her.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and Marlborough Police are still investigating the case.
