A heated squabble over unpaid debts spiraled into a daylit shooting just west of downtown San Antonio, leaving one man wounded and authorities on the hunt for a pedal-pushing gunman. The altercation turned violent on Sunday afternoon amidst the hustle and bustle of El Paso Street near South San Marcos.
According to KSAT, the dispute escalated when one man in his 30s, who was on a bicycle, drew a firearm and shot the pedestrian over what police suspect was an argument about money owed. In the frantic moments that ensued, the shooter, eluding capture, pedaled away into anonymity while the wounded, whose condition has not been fully revealed but is not considered life-threatening, was left to grapple with the sudden burst of violence.
The suspect's swift departure on two wheels has left law enforcement scouring the vicinity with little more to go on than the fading echoes of the gunshot and a victim whose state of health remains uncertain. As reported by KTSA, police have yet to provide a detailed description of the fugitive shooter and the victim. The search for the shooter continues.
