The ALPR technology has been particularly effective in situations like the residential burglary in National City, where a stolen vehicle was located. There was a separate incident that involved the arrest of five teens, aged 14 to 18, who had stolen a vehicle. Since the implementation of the ALPR program in El Cajon, approximately $500,000 worth of stolen vehicles have been recovered and rightfully returned to their owners.
