Earlier today, a house fire broke out at 1666 East Lincoln Ave. The inferno led to one minor injury and the displacement of a family, thanks to the commendable work of Escondido firefighters.
The incident began with a call to the Escondido Police and Fire Communication Center around 1:19 a.m., reporting a significant fire. The prompt response from the Escondido Police Department (EPD) confirmed a fully involved garage fire. Simultaneously, additional resources were called in due to the fire's severity, per the Escondido Fire Department.
The first responding team reported the fire furiously consuming the garage and spreading to the second floor and attic of the house. Despite the swift and aggressive effort by the firefighters, it took them about 30 minutes to contain and control the main body of the flames.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all parties, only one minor injury was reported, with the resident declining additional medical transportation after the assessment. No injuries were reported among firefighters. The aftermath of the fire saw the Red Cross providing support to the displaced family, alongside a $250 "SAVE" gift card offered by the California Fire Foundation for immediate assistance.
