
In Vista, California on October 27, a house fire on the 100 block of Palmyra Drive turned fatal. Firefighters and deputies responded promptly, leading to the discovery of a deceased individual, as reported by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
Gregory Triana Villegas, a 50-year-old suspect, was apprehended near the scene without resistance. Because of the fire's severity, firefighters were unable to save the unknown victim who remained trapped inside.
The aftermath of the fire revealed a body in one of the bedrooms. Subsequent investigations, managed by Homicide detectives and assisted by the Bomb and Arson detectives, and a fire specialist from Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), indicated that the fire had been deliberately ignited. The arson diagnosis was confirmed by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
