
A man's life was cut short while crossing the bustling 6900 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Houston, authorities reported. The 43-year-old male, whose identity remains withheld pending verification, met his demise under the wheels of a southbound blue Toyota Camry on Monday evening, as reported by the City of Houston.
The Houston Police Department said the collision happened off a crosswalk at about 6:05 p.m. on Monday.
After the impact, Houston Fire Department paramedics rushed the victim to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The 82-year-old male driver of the Toyota remained at the scene, was found not to be impaired, and was subsequently released after questioning.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing, according to the HPD report.
