A fatal single-vehicle crash in New Bedford occurred early at approximately 4:15 a.m. today on Route 140, north at Braley Road. A 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck was reported to have been driving at high speed when it struck a guardrail and went airborne.
The driver, suspected of not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity remains undisclosed by the Massachusetts State Police.
Investigations into this deadly crash continue underway with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. The accident site was closed until approximately 7 a.m. to facilitate rescue operations and the investigation, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
