Round Rock, prepare to roll out the bamboo mats and chopsticks—Raku AYCE Sushi, Sukiyaki, Buffet & Bar is coming to town, and it's going to be all-you-can-eat, folks. As per Community Impact report, it's revealed that the gluttonous paradise will be setting up shop at 2000 South I-35 Frontage Road, where you can start scoffing sushi either this December or January.
Now, Raku isn't some fish-out-of-water establishment—it's an offspring of the Queens, New York-based Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet. But before you get it twisted, it's not to be confused with Austin's very own Umi Sushi Bar & Grill. According to Community Impact, Sam Wang is the intrepid franchisee who's bringing the buffet bonanza to the burb. But sushi ain't all that's shaking up Round Rock. Austin’s pie-slinging favorite, Via 313, has made the hop from trailer to a full-blown restaurant, spreading its Detroit-style dough within the cozy confines of the West Sixth spot Star Bar from 4 p.m. to the wee hours.
According to Community Impact, Round Rock's palate is getting as diverse as a United Nations potluck. Usta Kababgy’s spinning the spit with Mediterranean marvels including chicken shawarma and lamb tikka, while the juice wizards at Clean Juice are blending up a storm with organic elixirs. Don't forget the dollops of culture with the Latin beats and bites at The Point ATX or the poised pirouettes over at Dolce Dance.
Though if you think stuffing your face is all there is to it, you've got another thought coming. Come 2024, beer buffs and barbecue enthusiasts can call Cotton Creek Brewery their second home. As construction buzzes on since October, get ready to chow down on smoky meats and chug craft brews in what promises to be Hutto's hub for hops and chops.
For those with a sweet tooth that just won't quit, Smiling Donuts is rolling into town. Jamie Muor, dishing out those doughy rings of joy, told Community Impact that February 2024 will see the Pflugerville favorite expand to Round Rock. Plus, Macs is cooking up a storm of gourmet mac and cheese delights at Kalahari Resorts.
