
Fuddruckers announced today, November 1, the closure of its 35-year-old Saugus restaurant on Route 1. This decision follows failed lease negotiations between the Saugus franchise owner Adrienne LeBlanc and the establishment's landlord, resulting in a sudden closure CBS News reported.
The Fuddruckers restaurant in Reading, housed inside Jordan's Furniture, will to continue serving, Fuddruckers fans. The Fuddruckers chain began in Texas in 1980 its journey and is down to a single outlet in New England. A Fuddruckers inside the Foxwoods Resort Casino also recently closed, replaced by a Wahlburgers.
In response to the closure, Adrienne LeBlanc expressed disappointment in a Boston Restaurants blog post. The franchise owner stated they had hoped to keep the restaurant open, considering its long history as Fuddruckers' headquarters in Beverly and Danvers. Additionally, in the blog post, it was confirmed that the Reading location would continue catering services, and fundraising efforts and offer a self-serve produce bar.
