A neighborhood was rocked by gunfire as deputies responded to a shooting on Hawkbrook Drive in San Dimas that left one man dead. According to an alert from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the homicide detectives are currently investigating the circumstances that led up to the tragic incident which occurred yesterday at around 6:48 p.m.
Upon arriving at the 1800 block of Hawkbrook Drive, deputies discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. Despite the best efforts of responding Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A frantic search is now underway to definitively identify a suspect, as no arrests have been made thus far, as reported by the department.
The identity of the victim has not been released, as officials are presumably working to notify the next of kin. The scant details provided by officials paint a picture of an urgent and ongoing investigation, with a killer potentially still at large. "The investigation is ongoing, and currently there is no additional information," as the Sheriff's Department stated in an earlier release.
While law enforcement continues to meticulously comb through clues, they are also appealing to the public for assistance.
