Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, engaged in two supporting activities in San Diego before Veterans Day, focusing on military families and veterans. At Camp Pendleton, they met with military personnel and their families, subsequently attending the Navy SEAL Foundation's opening of their Warrior Fitness Program West Coast Facility, per Fox 5 San Diego.
At the facility unveiling, Tony Duynstee, a former SEAL and Alexandria Real Estate Equities Senior Vice President, emphasized the royal pair's commitment to veterans via their Archewell Foundation. Duynstee also remarked on their ongoing efforts to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues in the military.
Meeting with participants of Operation Bigs, a mentoring program took place in Camp Pendleton for children with military families, according to a Town and Country report. Operation Bigs seeks to guide children through the unique challenges of being in a military family.
Prince Harry also expressed his concern for bereaved military children through his new Global Ambassador role with Scotty's Little Soldiers, a UK-based group. Harry authored an emotional letter sent to the organization's members, encouraging them to take pride in their late parents during Remembrance Weekend.
During the San Diego visit, Harry and Meghan discovered more about the Warrior Fitness Program West Coast Facility's influential impact managed by the Navy SEAL Foundation. Offering holistic support services, the facility focuses on improving the physical and mental well-being of veterans and active-duty Naval Special Warfare personnel.
