Yesterday, Hopkinton police arrested a 28-year-old motorcyclist, Robert Wills, who was suspected of multiple offenses. Cited in WBZ NewsRadio, authorities had been trailing the specific black motorcycle, notable for its single exhaust pipe, for several months before the pursuit.
Beginning near 85 Main St. early Wednesday morning, the chase continued south toward Milford. To evade the police, Wills took off, managing to momentarily lose them. However, the pursuit resumed on Holt Street, as per the report on Patch.
After roughly two miles, Wills's motorcycle collided with another vehicle on the intersection of Ash Street and Thayer Heights Road. Despite the crash, he fled on foot but was apprehended in a nearby yard. Neither Wills nor the other vehicle's driver sustained injuries from the incident, as detailed by MassLive.
Acting Chief Scott van Raalten praised the officers involved, acknowledging their cautious yet vigilant conduct during the chase amidst morning traffic. This was mentioned by WBZ NewsRadio. Van Raalten further appreciated their safe arrest of Wills without further incidents.
At the time of Wills's arrest, a high-capacity magazine was discovered in his possession by the police. As noted by Patch, Wills now faces multiple charges, such as leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, operating an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, speeding, absence of a number plate, and possession of a large capacity feeding device. His arraignment took place at Framingham District Court today.
