A father is mourning the loss of his son, who was ruthlessly gunned down in the Heights, and now he clings to hope that newly released surveillance photos will lead to the capture of the alleged killers. Hank Bush described his late son, 41-year-old Jason Bush, as a "free spirit" who had turned his life around in recent years according to an interview obtained by FOX 26 Houston.
The incident unfolded on November 4, when, at approximately 5:23 p.m., Hank received a text from Jason, indicating his eagerness to take "a nice cruise" and enjoy a steak. Tragically, a mere hour and a half later, Jason would be slain in the parking lot of a gas station located at 1514 White Oak Drive. The Houston Police Department, without a clear motive for the shooting, released surveillance photos of the two suspects as reported by Click2Houston.
"One of the males approached him at point-blank range, shot him twice, and drove off. End of story," Bush said in a statement that echoed the senselessness of the act. The suspects, caught on camera in broad daylight, do not appear to have made any attempt to conceal their identities. "They're unique. They're distinctive. They don't blend in. Someone is going to know who they are," Bush added as mentioned by FOX 26 Houston.
The Houston Police Department continues to reach out to the public for assistance in identifying the culprits, believed to be connected to a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck. HPD's Homicide Division and Crime Stoppers are urging anyone with information on the identities and/or whereabouts of the wanted suspects to come forward. "Enjoy your freedom while you can. It won't last much longer. You're looking at a jail cell soon and hopefully the death penalty," Hank Bush would tell the suspects according to a statement obtained by FOX 26 Houston.
