The City of Huntington Beach reports a rise in the costs of maintaining clean water and sewer services by almost 21% in the last five years, partly due to inflation. To address this, the city plans to conduct utility rate studies and capitalize on projects. The residents are invited to participate in an informative Water & Wastewater Open House on Wednesday, November 8, at the Murdy Park Community Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m., as announced on their Facebook page.
The utility rate studies, last carried out in 2019, are held every three to five years to match the changeable costs and demands of water and wastewater treatment services. The Open House aims to provide residents an insight into the city's current operations and necessary upcoming projects maintaining reliable water and sewer services in Huntington Beach.
