
Kevin Thomas Tolbert, a 56-year-old resident of Lenoir, was arrested last Thursday following a reported altercation with the Alexander County Sheriff's Officers and Taylorsville Police according to WHKY report. It led to a review of his legal past, highlighting numerous convictions dating back to 1990.
Tolbert's charges include shoplifting with concealment of goods, possession of Schedule VI controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of resisting arrest as per B86 WACB report. His previous charges in Caldwell County range from assault with a deadly weapon to felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.
His past convictions, as recorded by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction Offender Public Information website, took place largely in Caldwell County, including forgery, uttering a forged instrument, and receiving stolen goods, among others. Tolbert's most recent conviction happened in 2022.
As of November 21, Tolbert was not listed as an inmate in either Alexander or Caldwell County. He's yet to undergo a series of court appearances in Taylorsville on December 11 and December 18, as well as a Superior Court hearing on December 11 in Caldwell County and an additional District Court appearance on December 13.
