A Massachusetts woman, Han Lee, and her accomplice Junmyung Lee are facing legal charges for running an expensive brothel service, according to MassLive. The alleged operation escorted clients, which reportedly included politicians and military officers, to rented luxury apartments for sexual activities.
Federal authorities estimate that the operation, spanning Massachusetts and Virginia, could have generated over $1 million. Court documents reveal significant amounts of money coming into the accused's bank accounts. Han Lee, who does not appear to have any legal employment, reportedly led an expensive lifestyle, favoring high-end designer brands like Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, as noted in a federal court affidavit according to NBC Boston.
Han Lee's apartment contained a large number of luxury goods and her bank accounts showed deposits of $965,000, with $800,550 in non-traceable cash, according to an affidavit from a Department of Homeland Security Investigations special agent. Junmyung Lee, who is said to be a student with no evident income, also reportedly had notable amounts of money in his bank accounts, including a $35,700 deposit thought to be for securing a brothel lease. Both individuals are currently in detention pending trial as they are considered flight risks given the amount of money they have allegedly amassed.
The pair are believed to have promoted their operation through websites advertising nude Asian models under the guise of professional photography. According to a statement from U.S. Attorney Joshua Levy, clients could select a woman and her services from a 'menu', with fees reaching up to $600 an hour as per MassLive.
