Yesterday evening, a chimney fire in Manchester, Massachusetts occurred on School Street. The Manchester Fire and Police Departments responded to a call made to the North Shore Regional 911 Center at 9:52 p.m., alerting them of the fire, as reported in a Facebook post.
Manchester's Engine 1, Squad 1, and C1 team responded to the call with assistance from Essex, MA Fire Department and their Ladder 1. According to the Facebook post, the rapid action resulted in the fire being confined to the chimney, avoiding further structural damages and ensuring residents' safety.
The post also noted that, during the incident, the Hamilton Fire Department provided cover at the Manchester station.
The successful cooperation between the departments was not only due to active communication but also owing to the joint effort by the Manchester by the Sea Police Department. They helped to quickly to secure a safe working area for the firefighters, mitigating the risks during the incident.
The incident resulted in no injuries and crews cleared the scene shortly after 11 p.m.
