The Healey-Driscoll Administration has pledged $8.5 million to fund improvements of early education and out-of-school time facilities serving primarily low-income families across Massachusetts. The resources, drawn from Early Education and Out-of-School Time (EEOST) capital funding grants, aim to facilitate important renovations and construction projects that enhance the quality, accessibility, and safety of these establishments, reported by mass.gov.
To thoroughly throw support behind these objectives, Governor Maura Healey has raised funding by $4 million every year for the next four years for this program, as stated on mass.gov. Capital grants will be employed to bolster program facilities, expand classrooms, and increase state-subsidized childcare availability, thus supporting children and working families in need.
The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) is also assisting the Children’s Investment Fund (CIF), an affiliate of the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC), in the administration of these funds to effect the Healey-Driscoll Administration’s educational advancement goals of affordability and equity, according to mass.gov.
