The Michelin-starred Scratch Restaurants Group, famed for its culinary creativity, is gearing up to slice into Healdsburg's dining scene with the upcoming launch of Sushi by Scratch Restaurants: Healdsburg. According to a statement obtained by The Press Democrat, the grand opening is slated for December 1, with the table set for a 10-seat, 17-course omakase feast.
Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee, the dynamic Los Angeles-based husband-and-wife chef duo behind the group, are at it again, this time delivering their show-stopping touches to The Matheson, owned by none other than acclaimed Chef Dustin Valette. Nestled at 106 Matheson St., the place is bound for buzz, considering the couple's Montecito joint nabbed a Michelin star in 2021 and 2022 The Press Democrat reports.
Adding a twist to the traditional service, this sushi experience is expected to mesmerize guests, operating in a secretive, speakeasy fashion behind the doors of The Matheson's private dining room according to Sonoma County.
With a fine history of successful restaurants in major cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, Chicago, and Montreal since their inception in 2013, the Lees aren't playing games with their culinary endeavors. Sushi by Scratch Restaurants: Healdsburg becomes their latest love letter to the Omakase tradition, named after the Japanese phrase "I'll leave it up to you”.
For those eager to partake in the omakase experience, be sure to book one of the three exclusive seatings offered per night at $185 per person between 4 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.
