Two missing children from Puerto Rico were found in Springfield, Massachusetts, resulting in the arrest of their father, Luis Gonzalez-Fontanez. Reported missing on June 6, 2021, after a visit with Gonzalez-Fontanez, the children did not return home. Following a request from the Puerto Rico Police Department on October 10, U.S. Marshals in Puerto Rico heightened their involvement in the case, leading to the discovery that the father and children had traveled to Hartford before residing in Springfield as reported by Hartford Courant.
After identifying the children's and arresting Gonzalez-Fontanez, the children were returned to their family; the father was charged legally by the Springfield Police Department.
