Earlier today, the Democratic Party's office in Belknap County, New Hampshire, was vandalized. The culprits daubed swastikas and antisemitic slurs on the building as per Boston Globe and Boston 25 News.
This act of hate took place following the Belknap County Democratic Committee's social media posts. The posts showed their unity with the Jewish community and remembered Kristallnacht, the Nazi's devastating assault on Jews on November 9, 1938 according to Boston Globe. The timing suggests that the vandalism was a targeted act of intimidation targeting Jewish people and their supporters.
Laconia authorities are diligently investigating this incident. Laconia Police is actively seeking leads and connections to other vandalism incidents. These are not isolated incidents. Earlier, in September, graffiti targeting a Jewish community member appeared at the former Laconia State School property.
The New Hampshire Democratic Party's Chairman, Ray Buckley, stated in response their ongoing support for the Jewish community and renewed commitment against such acts as mentioned by Boston Globe. Buckley's statement called on citizens to unite in the fight against discrimination, underlining the pressing need to resolve it through collective societal effort.
