
Officer Benard, while on his routine patrol, executed a traffic stop yesterday evening. Subsequent investigations exposed narcotics and a loaded firearm in the motorist's possession. The officer flagged the speeding vehicle down around the vicinity of Alvarado Niles Rd. and Dyer St. per the Union City Police Department's Facebook post.
Upon the officer's approach, the vehicle was allegedly clearly visible in narcotics packages. After instructing the driver to leave the vehicle, the officer performed a search that turned up a loaded firearm concealed in the driver's waistband. Thankfully, the driver was apprehended peacefully, and a subsequent vehicular search resulted in uncovering more narcotics that appeared to be for sale.
The driver was arrested on charges relating to the possession of a firearm and narcotics for sale. Officer Benard's attentiveness and keen observational skills were crucial in apprehending this potentially dangerous individual and removing these substances from circulation. As per the rhetoric of the Facebook post, this was a significant bust.
