Santa Clarita's youngest residents are about to get seriously hooked up. Valencia Glen Park's playground is due for a major makeover, with the city looking to transform it into a kiddie paradise, complete with all the bells and whistles to make both tots and parents squeal with glee.

According to a Facebook post from the City of Santa Clarita, they are on the hunt for citizens' feedback on the soon-to-be-improved playground. "The playground at Valencia Glen Park will undergo renovations in the next few months, and we want to hear from our community about what you would like to see at the park!" the city broadcasted, eager to get you to openly share your playground dreams and desires.

But this isn't just about throwing up some new monkey bars or slapping on a fresh coat of paint. The existing play structure, raised in 2005 and now barely hanging on to its last legs, is set to be replaced as part of the broader City of Santa Clarita’s Playground Replacement Program for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

The city, via SurveyMonkey, is determined to eagerly collect your two cents on the new design, insisting on the community's input for a playground that will not only be more inclusive but also boast rubberized surfacing, shade for those scorching Santa Clarita summers, shaded seating for the grown-ups, and accessibility improvements to truly welcome all. "The new play area will create more play opportunities for two to 5-year-old children and five to 12-year-old children, provide inclusive elements, rubberized surfacing, shade over the play equipment, shaded seating areas and accessibility improvements," the declaration read, painting a picture of a utopian play space for tykes.
