The latest target in a series of cyberattacks is Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Illinois. The intrusion occurred during the summer but was only detected this month, signifying ongoing vulnerabilities in online systems as per the Chicago Sun Times.
Having achieved nearly $450 million in revenue this year, Rivers Casino was then subjected to a data breach, resulting in the exposure of critical information pertaining to patrons and staff. Potentially compromised details include dates of birth, driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers, and other crucial data according to the Chicago Sun Times.
Nobody's reported any cases of fraud or identity theft resulting from the breach, according to the casino. In view of the approximately 273,000 visits and about 300,000 online sports wagers the casino registered in July alone, the potential impact of the breach is substantial as stated in Chicago Sun Times.
