"Round Rock's holiday cheer is set to twinkle like a festooned fir tree!" trumpets the city's announcement, promising a dazzling December as the quaint downtown area morphs into a yuletide paradise. Residents and visitors alike can mosey through Downtown Round Rock, which from December 1–31 will be bedazzled with interactive holiday decor while the air is set to be brimming with melodious tunes from live bands Tuesday–Saturday, November 28–December 23, according to an official statement from the Round Rock Texas.
Downtown is transformed into an ideal spot for family photos, drowning in a sea of lights nightly. Bands enthrall visitors with joyful serenades at Prete Plaza on Wednesdays, and onlookers can catch more subdued acoustic sounds in various cozy corners, including the parklets and the Round Rock Public Library courtyard, on the other weekdays.
For a splashier brand of holiday merriment, "Light Up the Lake" dazzles at Old Settlers Park on December 1 and 2, offering an electric evening escapade from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Behemoth balloons will hover above merry-makers as a staggering light show illuminates the joy of the season.
The holidays are in full gear as the Holiday Model Train Exhibit rolls into town from December 13–30. Nestled in the new Round Rock Public Library at 200 E. Liberty Ave., this free, interactive display invites families daily, Wednesday through Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.
