The day prior to this announcement, on Wednesday, the San Diego Police Department posted an urgent request for assistance on Facebook in an attempt to find Sanchez per Hoodline. The post, which described him as at-risk, stated that he was last seen around 6:00 p.m. near 4000 30th Street in San Diego. It also provided a complete description of Sanchez, including his white hair, hazel eye color, and clothing, as well as a silver bracelet inscribed with his name and his daughter's contact information.
To swiftly locate Sanchez, coordination between the community and the authorities was paramount. Many residents were actively involved, distributing fliers, forming search parties, and increasing the reach of the information via social media, all of which were key contributors to the success of this endeavor.
