
Following a severe hit-and-run accident in San Diego, local officials are searching for the driver responsible for the tragic incident. The San Diego County Crime Stoppers and the San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division have issued a public request for assistance in identifying the vehicle and driver involved in the crash. On October 21, a couple on a three-wheeled motorcycle was hit by an unidentified driver in the Tierrasanta area of San Diego, as reported by the San Diego County Crime Stoppers.
The collision resulted in severe injuries for the 65-year-old male rider, while the 68-year-old female passenger sustained fatal injuries. The motorcycle was forced off the road and into a ravine, ejecting both riders. In the face of such an incident, it becomes increasingly clear the importance of community partnership in seeking justice.
Post-collision, video footage shows the suspect vehicle briefly stopping south of the incident, then the driver quickly left the scene. A bystander who had witnessed the accident flagged down two vehicles to assist, who both left upon the arrival of first responders, as per San Diego County Crime Stoppers. Detectives now implore the public to assist in providing any information that could help identify the suspect or the vehicle.
The suspected vehicle is thought to be a dark SUV or sedan that has potential light to moderate damage on the right side. A $1,000 reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in this case.
