Greenfield residents are urged to steer clear of a would-be tow truck scam, officials warned yesterday. A bogus company known as "Miley Towing" claimed to offer its services from Greenfield, but a closer look has revealed a tangled web of lies and deception designed to dupe unsuspecting locals, according to a Facebook post from the Greenfield, Mass Police Department.
The so-called tow company advertised an address on Chapman St., now confirmed to be an abandoned building ill-equipped to house such an operation, according to a Facebook post by the Greenfield Police.
The fraudsters have seemingly managed to quickly ensnare at least one Franklin County resident in their scheme.
