A former teacher's assistant from Johnson High School has been swept up in controversy and is now a fugitive, accused of the unsettling act of sending nude photos to a student, reports indicate. Daniela Franco, 23, is dodging the law with authorities on her trail for alleged 'child grooming'—a fresh charge under the Texas penal code that fetches the label of a third-degree felony.
As per the San Antonio Express-News, the accused took the shocking step to inform the district on Oct. 17 of her social media exchanges with the student, which involved inappropriate pictures. Post her confession, Ms. Franco parted ways with the district, where she had been employed since August 2022. Grosly betrayed by the position she was trusted with, Franco now seems to have slipped away from the grasp of the law, having been tipped off about her arrest warrant.
Franco's resignation came a day later after Northeast Independent School District officials got wind of the allegations, with Aubrey Chancellor, a spokeswoman for the district, affirming that Franco stepped down on Oct. 18, "the same day" she owned up to the misconduct. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office, keen to catch Franco, now believes she is actively running from the law, in a detail disclosed by My San Antonio. Deputy Johnny Garcia, spokesperson for the BCSO, confirmed the fugitive apprehension unit's efforts have thus far been fruitless in tracking her down.
