A shooting incident at Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista led to the arrest of a 15-year-old suspect. The shooting incident which took place Friday night left four individuals injured, as reported by the Times of San Diego.
The Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD) is actively investigating the incident, commencing from a dispute between two groups. A firearm was discharged, resulting in repercussions to a 16-year-old male implicated in the altercation and a 58-year-old man, a 60-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old woman. None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The CVPD has dismissed links to hate crimes or terrorism, with the focus being placed on the originating dispute. Notwithstanding the alarming nature of the incident, an active shooter scenario has been ruled out, per Hoodline.
During their investigation, police continue to solicit information from, reaching out to the public, and they have gathered testimony from numerous eyewitnesses and video footage.
