In East County, a teenage altercation escalated into a nightmare scenario of gunfire and blades drawing blood on Woodside Avenue this past Saturday night. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department reported that deputies responded to the scene just before 7:30 p.m., discovering a male gunshot victim and a teen who had been stabbed amid the violence.
The incident transpired in the 12000 block of Woodside Avenue, where a man with a bullet wound was found, officials stated. Rushed to the hospital, his condition was stabilized, and although the gunshot was severe, it was not deemed life-threatening. Also discovered was a wounded 16-year-old boy, his flesh torn by a blade. He was hospitalized but later released.
In the pursuit of those responsible, deputies apprehended a male juvenile believed to be the one wielding the knife. The juvenile was booked into juvenile hall. However, the gunman remains at large. Amidst the chaos, deputies and detectives are diligently reconstructing the narrative and gathering evidence.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the community's assistance. "If you have any information, call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477," urged Lieutenant Chris Katra. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may find motivation in the up to $1,000 reward offered for leads resulting in apprehension. Information can also be relayed through the P3 anonymous tip app.
