A Tree-mendous Effort: Volunteers from Brighton Plant Trees at Hobart Park, Aiming to Create a Lusher Urban LandscapeSource: Google Street View

Volunteers of various ages congregated at Hobart Park, Brighton, on November 4, to plant four new trees. This work was spearheaded by Friends of Hobart Park (FHP), with an aim to contribute to a greener and more diverse urban landscape, as per a City of Boston article.

Local City Councilor, Liz Breadon, was among the active participants present. The group planted a ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba), a hackberry (Celtis occidentalis), and two yellowwood trees (Cladrastis kentukea). These trees, standing at Hobart Park and eagerly waiting to flourish, were planted with the aim of benefiing children, families, and other individuals who seek tranquility in nature.

Residents have decided to take full responsibility in nurturing the newly planted saplings. These young trees will require regular care in order to establish their roots firmly in the park's terrain. Such involvement from the residents with the Parks Department highlights the significance and the dedication of a community in preserving the urban tree canopies, notably in Brighton.
