
On Tuesday, November 7, a reported case of theft took place at Macy's in the Emerald Square Mall, North Attleboro, Massachusetts. A trio of thieves, comprising two women and a man, were caught on camera stealing over $3,000 worth of fragrances. This scenario is perceived as more than an isolated incident and potentially characterizes a larger scale menace to the retail industry and its employees, according to Boston 25 News.
Surveillance footage showed the thieves exiting the store with acquired goods. North Attleborough police noted the suspects' departure in a Rhode Island plated Nissan Altima, as per Boston 25 News. The store manager claimed to recognize the thieves from previous, unreported shoplifting incidents.
In a statement issued by Macy's, the safety of their customers and colleagues was emphasized. While they refrained from commenting on the ongoing investigation, they assured full cooperation with local authorities, as also reported by Boston 25 News.
