Yesterday, a truck driver under alleged narcotic influence drove his vehicle into a house causing serious material damage. Piedmont Police Department, via its Facebook post, reiterated that the respondent lost control over the truck, carrying a forklift-loaded trailer, and was lodged snugly between two houses, on Park Ln's 1100 block at 6:30 pm.
Signs of narcotic abuse led to the driver's arrest and booking at Santa Rita Jail. There was also a gram of presumed black tar heroin and drug paraphernalia seized from his truck.
With the holiday season approaching Authorities have clearly warned road users about the severe risks associated with intoxicated driving. Keep in mind that impaired driving is not restricted to alcohol; it also includes prescription and illicit drugs which can significantly decrease judgment and motor skills.
