The U.S. Attorney's Office is joining forces with Carmi Public Library to host a Senior Fraud Prevention Seminar on November 17th. The seminar intends to provide seniors with information on prevalent scams targeted at them over the internet and telephones says the U.S. Attorney's Office. With the rapid advancement of technology, scammers continually devise new techniques to deceive, often exploiting the vulnerabilities of the older population.
Given the increasing incidence of elder fraud across the nation, U.S. Attorney Rachelle Aud Crowe revealed that a seasoned prosecutor will attend the seminar.
