Ventura County fire departments, along with ABC7 and local sponsors, are participating in the 31st annual Spark of Love toy drive. This meaningful endeavor is a bright spot during troublesome times, showcasing human resilience and unity, as per a VCFD press release.
Over the past three decades, the tradition has grown into Ventura County's major community toy drive. As 2023 draws to a close, the event’s impact is a testament to ongoing community support and generosity.
The centerpiece of the campaign is the collection of fresh, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for children and teenagers in underserved Ventura County areas. In collaboration with Food Share, an organization devoted to combating county hunger, the drive will provide food boxes to families. You can make non-perishable food and toy donations at any participating location. Last year, community generosity impacted over 30,000 local children and teenagers, according to the official press release.
If you are interested in contributing to this significant cause, you can drop off new, unwrapped gifts and non-perishable food at local fire stations, participating businesses, or donate online via the Ventura Fire Foundation. Each contribution, no matter its size, brightens the world and brings people closer together.
