Voodoo Doughnut, a renowned doughnut shop from Portland, Oregon, inaugurated its new location in East Dallas on Greenville Avenue on November 20. This marks the 21st venue for Voodoo Doughnut countrywide and the eighth in Texas, as reported by FOX 4 News.

Since establishing in 2003, co-founders Kenneth "Cat Daddy" Pogson and Tres Shannon have sought to rapidly expand their "world doughnut domination." Their remarkable doughnuts and unique store experiences have garnered a considerable following. Voodoo Doughnut even made Bon Appetit's 2010 list of the country's 10 best doughnuts, per the Dallas Observer.

Voodoo Doughnut will compete with local doughnut makers such as Detour Doughnuts, Hypnotic, and Jarams near the Greenville location. Voodoo's distinct flavors, an abundance of 25 vegan options, and eclectic identity have created a loyal fan base at previous locations, known for their signature Bacon Maple Bar.

Gourmet doughnut shops have grown in Dallas, with additions like the Salty Donut, Wow Donuts and Drips, and Parlor. Excitement arose among Dallas residents for the opening of Voodoo Doughnut despite the presence of other doughnut providers. The residential area surrounding Greenville Avenue and foot traffic from neighboring establishments might help boost the shop's performance, as highlighted by the Dallas Observer.

One fan, Mark Magiera, displayed his dedication by arriving at the shop at 5 a.m. on opening day, stating, "This is huge for me, I don't have to go back and forth to Portland to get my Voodoo," per FOX 4 News.
