Earlier today, a distressing incident occurred in Stoneham, Massachusetts, where a woman allegedly stabbed her mother and adult daughter. As reported by NBC Boston, the unsettling episode transpired at San Jose Terrace shortly past 8 a.m.
The local police arrived on the scene to find two injured women, who were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Though injured, the victims' conditions are non-life-threatening, and recovery is expected. A third woman, linked to the stabbings, has been arrested and was also taken to the hospital as a safety measure according to WCVB.
Local residents have expressed their shock about the incident. Even amidst the fear stemming from such an attack, the residents were slightly relieved knowing it was a domestic issue and thus did not directly threaten others. Sara Lapery, a local, expressed sympathies, stating, "Families are kind of going through a lot right now."
An initial investigation, as reported by Boston 25 News points towards the possibility that the alleged individual who did commit the attack could have been experiencing a mental health crisis at the time. Stoneham Police Chief, James O'Connor, reassured that all parties involved are related; hence, the community isn't in immediate danger.
The ongoing investigation has yet to reveal whether charges will be filed against the suspect.
