The aftermath saw the transport of two patients bearing the brunt of the crash's violence to St. David's South Austin Medical Center, with one person hanging on the edge of life with critical, life-threatening injuries. The EMS stated that another individual at the same facility faced potentially serious injuries. The Austin Police Department later delivered a somber note, as reported by CBS Austin, confirming that one person succumbed to their injuries as a result of the collision.
The toll of the incident extended further to Dell Seton Medical Center, where two victims, both suffering from potentially serious injuries, sought medical care. In a twisted fate, two others emerged from the wreckage with minor wounds, choosing to spurn the hands and offering them a ride to the hospital. The EMS would later be requested to return to the scene, as they then shuttled another patient to St. David's South Austin Medical Center, revealing injuries minor in nature juxtaposed to the earlier chaos. Officials urged the public to steer clear of the area as the mess was gradually cleared, causing significant traffic delays.
