A 19-year-old man was shot and killed inside a vehicle on Chicago's West Side. The incident took place in the Austin neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, said the Chicago police.
The victim, identified as Mylez Tucker, was in a vehicle with four other individuals in the 5200 block of West Madison Street. At approximately 1:45 p.m., one of the passengers discharged a firearm, shooting Tucker. He was subsequently rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Chicago Sun-Times.
Further details revealed by police noted that after the shooting, two passengers and the suspected shooter fled the scene on foot. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the homicide which marks yet another chapter in the city's ongoing struggle with gun violence. Area Four detectives are currently investigating the matter, seeking leads to quickly bring the perpetrator to justice, as reported by ABC7 Chicago.
The case remains under investigation as the authorities have yet to publicly identify any suspects.
