A tragic single-vehicle crash that occurred on the night of December 20 has claimed the life of a young Gardena man, Long Beach authorities confirmed Tuesday.
The victim, a 22-year-old male whose identity has not been released, was reportedly navigating north on Studebaker Road when he lost control and violently struck several stationary objects. Despite the quick response of the Long Beach Fire Department who transported the driver to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries a week later, on December 27. As the Long Beach Police Department continues to unravel the circumstances surrounding the mishap, they are looking to determine whether speed or adverse weather conditions played a role in inadvertently contributing to this tragic incident.
