
An 82-year-old man was killed in a solo-vehicle crash, authorities said Thursday. The Houston Police Department reported that the accident happened around 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday at 14600 South Post Oak Road.
According to the official report, a red Chrysler 300 was barreling southbound in the northbound lanes when it veered off the road and collided with a tree. The elderly driver, whose name has not yet been released pending confirmation from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was rushed to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The collision did not involve any other vehicles or people. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer K. Stanley is investigating the circumstances that led to this fatal outcome. The police have yet to determine what caused the man to drive the wrong way on the thoroughfare.
