An Apple Valley man was arrested on suspicion of child pornography crimes, according to officials. James Leonard Colvin, 61, was taken into custody after a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led detectives to his residence.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department revealed that the Specialized Investigations Division's Crimes Against Children Detail detectives carried out an investigation that led to Colvin's arrest on December 5. Colvin was booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, with bail set at $30,000 on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography and contacting a minor with intent to commit a felony.

Investigators allege that Colvin not only possessed but also distributed illegal material, engaging in communications with unidentified minors to send them lewd material. Authorities are now seeking the minors potentially involved and have released Colvin's mugshot to aid in their investigation.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Detective Wendy Winegar at the Specialized Investigations Division.
