An 18-year-old Aubrey resident lost his life in a bizarre incident after attempting to sink a stolen car in Lewisville Lake, according to authorities. Keith Johnson was identified as the unfortunate individual who succumbed to his injuries after being struck by the vehicle he was supposedly trying to submerge.
Little Elm Police responded to the scene near Doe Branch Park in the early hours of Monday, following reports of the incident. The car, running from its past, struck Johnson, leading to the grave repercussions that awaited him on an all-too-final shore. The vehicle was confirmed stolen from Denton County, as reported by FOX 4 News.
Tragedy struck in the 1200 block of Gammon Road, where Johnson's attempt to conceal the vehicle beneath the murky depths tragically backfired. He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, only to die the following day. The quest to hide the evidence of a crime led not to obscurity, but to a stark and unwelcome spotlight on the dangers of such reckless acts.
Lamenting the car's lost and drowned tomorrow, Johnson's demise serves as a sad reminder of the unintended consequences that can emerge from criminal enterprises. In a cruel twist of fate, the machine he sought to hide in the watery embrace of Lewisville Lake turned on him, dealing the fatal blow. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft and subsequent events, according to The Dallas Morning News.
